LIVERPOOL - Teka teki mengenai masa depan Fernando Torres di Liverpool akhirnya terjawab apabila dia semakin pasti menyertai Chelsea selepas majikan lamanya dikhabarkan berjaya mendapatkan bintang muda dari Newcastle, Andy Carroll sebagai pengganti sebelum menjualkan pemain antarabangsa Sepanyol itu ke Stamford Bridge.

Menurut beberapa laporan dari media United Kingdom, Newcastle telah menerima bidaan berjumlah melebihi 35 juta pound (RM 171.3 juta) dari Liverpool dan Carroll akan menjalani ujian perubatan dengan kelab Merseyside itu.

Jumlah perpindahan itu merupakan antara yang tertinggi antara dua kelab di England iaitu selepas Manchester United membayar Leeds sebanyak 29.1 juta pound (RM 142.7 juta) bagi mendapatkan Rio Ferdinand.

Dengan kemasukan Carroll ke Liverpool, ia sudah pasti memudahkan laluan Torres ke Chelsea yang akan melakukan bidaan kira-kira 50 juta pound ke atas (RM 245 juta). Sebelum itu, pengurus Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish dikhabarkan enggan melepaskan pemainnya yang paling bernilai itu menyertai Chelsea.

Sehingga 1 pagi waktu Malaysia, Pengerusi Eksekutif Chelsea, Ron Gourlay difahamkan telah mengadakan perbincangan lanjut dengan Torres mengenai pembelian kontrak dan gaji yang dijangka bakal menjangkau 80 juta pound (RM 392.4 juta)

Chelsea akan membayar 45 juta pound yang bermakna dia akan dibayar sebanyak 200,000 pound (RM 979,000) seminggu termasuk bonus, jumlah itu hampir melebihi sekali ganda gaji Torres di Liverpool iaitu 110,000 pound (RM 538,740).

Torres akan mengikat kontrak selama lima tahun dengan jumlah besarnya 35 juta pound (RM 171.44 juta).

Liverpool sebelum ini sudah berjaya mendapatkan khidmat penyerang Uruguay dan Ajax Amsterdam, Luis Suarez dengan yuran perpindahan 22.8 juta pound (RM 111.7 juta) dan akan menyarung jersi nombor tujuh yang pernah digunakan oleh pengurus, Kenny Dalglish. - Agensi

CHELSEA have signed Fernando Torres for a British record fee of £50m from Liverpool.

The Spanish striker has signed a deal with the Blues until the summer of 2016 worth a whopping £8m a year.

The cash-only transfer was given the go-ahead by Kop boss Kenny Dalglish after the Reds reached agreement with Newcastle striker Andy Carroll over a £35m move.

Torres passed a medical at Chelsea's Cobham training HQ tonight and will be unveiled later this week.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich hopes Spanish hitman Torres can help deliver the Champions League triumph he craves.

Liverpool reluctantly let Torres go after he put in a transfer request on Friday.

The deal exceeds the £32.5m Manchester City forked out to sign Robinho from Real Madrid in August 2008.

IGA Investment Fund Plans to Invest in Classic Cars

According to Hagerty's "Cars That Matter" index, prices for collectible post-war automobiles has gone up 67% from 2006 to the end of last year, while Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 5.9% over the same time period. Those are some compelling numbers, which have compelled many investors to put their equity into rolling assets.

That's the basis for the formation of IGA Automobile, an upstart investment fund that aims to buy and re-sell some of the finest automobiles they can get their hands on. Among their targeted acquisitions are the Ferrari 250 GTO (like the one pictured above), Aston Martin DB4 Zagato, Ford GT 40, MacLaren F1, Shelby Daytona and Porsche 917. Of course they'll have to find buyers willing to part with their cars to turn them around, but the fund plans on investing some $150 million over the course of 7 years and turn a 15% profit for its investors.

Among those reportedly on board is Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, a noted collector and regular columnist for Octane magazine.

Aston Martin Delivers the First One-77 to Monaco

It's here at long last: the first Aston Martin One-77 has officially been delivered to its first customer, officially catapulting Aston Martin into the upper stratosphere of the supercar arena.

The first of 77 examples to be produced, this black example was delivered to Monaco, no less, at Monte Carlo's famous Hotel de Paris. The last example is set to leave the factory by the end of the year.

There are reportedly still a few places left on the list, but to get one you'll need to fork over an additional $240,000 on top of the initial $1.8 million sticker price for a grand total of $2.04 million. That's a lot of cash for one car, but a lot of car it is indeed.

Hakim Singgih Budi Prakoso di Mahkamah Daerah Bandung menjatuhkan hukuman hukuman penjara tiga tahun enam bulan dan didenda 250 juta rupiah (RM85,000) ekoran kesalahannya itu.

Luna Maya kemudian pengsan selepas hukuman ke atas Ariel dijatuhkan dan dia terpaksa dipimpin turun dari tingkat dua Mahkamah Daerah Bandung.

Ariel yang ditemui selepas hukuman itu dijatuhkan tidak banyak mengulas mengenai hukuman yang diterimanya selain menegaskan dia tidak bersalah dan sedang berfikir untuk membuat rayuan.

"Ya nggak (tidak bersalah) lah, dituduh mengedarkan...ya nggaklah (tuduhan itu tidak benar)," kata Ariel. - Agensi
