A Potter work ... matchstick creation

A MADCAP model maker has worked his magic on a giant version of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts - made from 602,000 matchsticks.

Creator Pat Acton painstakingly pieced together the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry using more than 24 gallons of glue.

His replica has every single bridge, window and tower seen in the Hollywood blockbuster series, which starred Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard.

It even includes the Great Hall, the Great Tower and Fortified Cathedral as seen on screen.

The masterpiece now sits pride of place in his home museum alongside other giant matchstick models - including battleship USS Iowa, Capitol Hill and New York’s Freedom Tower.

Proud dad-of-three Pat - who worked from photos to build his own mini Hogwarts - said: “I have always loved architecture ever since I was in elementary school.

“People react very differently to each model - some they are drawn to immediately, others they ignore.

“They are all a labour of love, taking years to plan and build.”
