DUBAI - Satu kumpulan pereka Belanda dari Universiti Delft TU termasuk bekas angkasawan negara itu, Wubbo Ockels berjaya mencipta bas unik yang bernilai AS$18.75 juta (RM56.70 juta), lapor sebuah akhbar semalam.

Bas unik itu umpama limousin tetapi ia mempunyai enam tayar dan boleh membawa 23 penumpang manakala panjang kenderaan tersebut adalah 4.57 meter.

Kenderaan tersebut boleh bergerak selaju 255 kilometer sejam, mempunyai 12 pintu, dijana dengan satu motor elektrik dan bateri litium polimer.

Bentuk luaran kenderaan itu yang aerodinamik membantu ia menggunakan bahan bakar dengan efisen.

Ketua jurutera reka bentuk bas itu ialah Antonia Terzi yang pernah bekerja dengan pasukan kereta lumba Formula Satu, BMW Williams.

Projek pembinaan bas itu mengambil masa selama tujuh tahun yang bermula pada 2004. - Agensi

German Billionaire Offers World's Fastest Long-Range Superyacht for $85 Million

German eco-industrialist Guido Krass is offering to sell his 241-ft. Silver Zwei (above), the world's fastest long-range superyacht, for €59 million (about $85 million). Designed to the billionaire's specifications by Monaco's famed Espen Oeino, the Silver Zwei is about as an environmentally friendly as a yacht of its size and speed can be.

That means high fuel efficiency, which is quite handy when crossing the Atlantic at a cool 22 knots. The yacht's light, airy interior has accommodations for 20 guests in nine cabins including a large owner's suite with private lounge and veranda deck. Earth tones and clean white spaces with orange accents abound.

Luxury touches are in ample supply including an open-air cinema and Jacuzzi on the sundeck, a large sunpad which converts to a dance floor with discotheque lighting and sound systems, a sea level beach club with integrated sauna, and a helipad on the foredeck. Equipped with advanced security and communications systems, she's ready for a new billionaire owner to take the helm.

BROKDORF, Jerman - Seorang remaja berusia 20 tahun hilang kawalan menyebabkan kereta sport bapanya yang berharga £275,000 (RM1.35 juta) remuk akibat terbabas di sebatang jalan raya di sini, lapor sebuah akhbar semalam.

Namun, remaja tersebut dan seorang penumpang wanita berumur 19 tahun hanya mengalami cedera ringan selepas kereta sport Gumpert Apollo itu terbabas baru-baru ini.

Pihak berkuasa kini melakukan siasatan bagi mengetahui sama ada remaja itu memandu dengan laju di kawasan yang mempunyai had kelajuan 80 kilometer sejam.

Kereta sport itu merupakan salah sebuah kereta yang paling laju di dunia.

Audi targets Russian and UAE customers with special edition models

With an aim to increase the brand’s exclusivity and give a stiff competition to BMW, German automaker Audi is rolling out special editions in markets around the world. The Volkswagen unit will start selling the special edition two-tone exterior turbo-diesel V-12-powered Audi Q7 in Russia next month, with prices starting at €200,000 ($285,000). The Q7 Special Edition SUV is going to cost the Audi lovers almost twice the base price for a Q7 in Russia. Sea monster sparks tsunami panic

THIS deep sea monster sent people running for their lives when it was reeled in on a Taiwanese beach.

The 12ft yellow ribbonfish reportedly sparked tsunami panic because of its size.

The species is normally found only in deep waters, but was hooked on a line off the coast of Miaoli, in north west Taiwan.

Fisherman Xie Lu said: "People started packing up to leave. They thought some kind of terrible earthquake was coming and they began to flee."

Experts believe the fish may have been forced out of its natural habitat by the aftershocks following Japan's devastating earthquake.

One marine official said: "The original undersea earthquake did enormous damage and drove many species out of their natural habitat."

BRADENTON, Amerika Syarikat (AS) - Seorang ibu kepada lima orang anak, Adele Edwards didapati mengalami sejenis gangguan pelik yang dikenali sebagai Pica kerana dia gemar memakan kusyen sofa.

Pica merupakan gangguan yang sering dialami oleh kanak-kanak dan ibu mengandung yang kekurangan nutrien tertentu. Ia boleh menyebabkan mereka suka memakan benda-benda seperti kapur tulis, duit syiling, bateri dan tanah.

Dia yang berasal dari Bradenton, Florida Amerika Syarikat (AS) dikatakan telah memakan kusyen selama 21 tahun. Adele dilihat cuba mendapatkan bantuan selepas masalahnya itu sudah tidak dapat dikawal.

"Sejak beberapa tahun lalu, saya sudah makan tujuh sofa. Saya membuka zip alas kusyen dan memakannya. Apabila sudah makan, saya sukar untuk berhenti. Kini, doktor memberitahu jika saya meneruskannya, ketagihan ini akan membunuh saya," katanya.

Adele mengakui tabiat peliknya itu berlaku kerana tertekan sewaktu ibu bapanya mahu bercerai ketika dia baru berusia 10 tahun. Kini, dia memakan kusyen sebanyak 15 kali sehari. Adele terpaksa mendapatkan rawatan terapi dan hipnosis demi menghilangkan ketagihan luar biasa itu. - Agensi
