LOS ANGELES - Seorang lelaki terkejut seolah-olah tidak percaya apa yang telah berlaku selepas teman wanitanya menolak lamarannya di hadapan orang ramai yang sedang duduk di kawasan kedai makanan sebuah pusat beli-belah Sherman Oaks Galleria di sini baru-baru ini.

Wanita tersebut kelihatan amat terkejut dan tersenyum semasa kekasihnya membuat lamaran itu. Lelaki itu melutut sambil mahu menyerahkan sebentuk cincin kepadanya manakala orang ramai bertepuk tangan.

Namun, lelaki itu berada dalam keadaan yang terkejut seolah-olah tidak mempercayai apa yang berlaku kerana kekasihnya yang dikenali sebagai Caroline berkata: "Oh Tuhan, apa yang kamu lakukan?".

Wanita itu kemudian meninggalkan lelaki berkenaan yang berada dalam keadaan tergamam.

LONDON - Kereta sport termahal di dunia kini bertukar takhta apabila kereta Lamborghini buatan Itali berjaya memintas pendahulu sebelum ini, Bugatti Veyron, lapor sebuah akhbar semalam.

Kereta Lamborghini Sesto Elemento itu dijual dengan perbezaan harga £170 ribu (RM830,389) dengan nilai £1.77 juta (RM8.7 juta).

Ia dibina pada tahun ini di Sant'Agata Bolognese, Itali.

Menurut Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, model itu pertama kali dipamerkan dalam Pertunjukan Kereta Paris Oktober lalu.

Bagaimanapun, kereta Lamborghini Sesto Elemento yang memiliki kelajuan 321 kilometer sejam masih tidak dapat menandingi Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport buatan Jerman dengan kelajuan maksimum 407 kilometer sejam.

Yet Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was put in his place yesterday by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

The billionaire Russian's 377ft yacht named Luna was moored close to the town of Antibes in South East France, making quite an impression on the coastline.

But then Mr Allen's 414ft vessel, named Octopus, cruised past to give him the bragging rights.

The yacht is equipped with two helicopters, two submarines, a swimming pool, a music studio and a basketball court. Mr Abramovich's also has a swimming pool and helipads.

Mr Allen is also known for using the yacht to host star-studded parties where his band provide the music.

Mr Allen, who is worth around $13billion, will not get to keep them for too long however - Mr Abramovich owns the 536ft Eclipse - the world's largest private yacht.
