Shutterbugs testing out Sony’s latest cameras with
Translucent Mirror Technology

SONY
Malaysia recently expanded its range of digital imaging products with the introduction of 12 new additions for professional photographers and amateur shutterbugs.

Among the products launched were two models of the world’s first interchangeable lens digital cameras with Translucent Mirror Technology and the world’s first high-definition camcorder with interchangeable lens system.

The Sony Cybershot range of compact cameras also saw four new additions to its stylish T Series and the power-packed W Series.

Photos taken are meant to be shared and thus Sony has also included five new digital photo frames to its S-Frame models.

"Sony continues to raise the innovation bar of our digital imaging product range to offer consumers from all levels with the ideal product and solutions that they will appreciate," said Sony Malaysia managing director Naoi Sudo.

Guests at the launch were later given a short briefing by Sony deputy general manager (product design department) Toshihiko Ishimura on the new models’ features.

"The newly-developed Translucent Mirror Technology allows users to achieve the highest-level performance for still image with high-speed continuous shooting, as well as full high-definition movie recording," he said.

"For full-fledged video recording, the new Sony camcorder with interchangeable lens system marries the best of DSLR and camcorder technology.

"Users can now capture images and videos with beautiful background defocus effects and shallow depth of field – visual effects that were previously difficult to achieve using conventional camcorders."

The new Sony Cybershot cameras are equipped with a 3D Sweep Panorama feature while the S-Frames now allow high-definition video playback on top of photo image viewing.
