Chelsea still tracking Neymar

Chelsea are still monitoring Brazil starlet Neymar, after their Dutch coach and scout Piet de Visser admitted that the forward was on the club's radar.

Neymar continues to attract interest from around Europe

De Visser made his name as the scout who brought Ronaldo to PSV from Cruzeiro back in 1994 and has been at Stamford Bridge since 2005, with owner Roman Abramovich keen to use his eye for talent to take the club forward.

Santos forward Neymar has a release clause in his new contract, but Chelsea are reluctant to pay the £38 million that it would cost to secure his services and are believed to be ready to return with a bid of £30 million in the summer after De Visser revealed that he was still tracking the 19-year-old.

Neymar finished as his country's top scorer as he led Brazil to victory at the recent South American Youth Championships in Peru and, while some reports have suggested that Chelsea are also tracking Gremio's Fernando and Casemiro of Sao Paulo, De Visser insists that one player has caught his eye above any others.

He told O Globo: "I have watched some players and, yes, Neymar I came to follow more closely".

Neymar is now represented by agent Pini Zahavi, who has close links to Abramovich, but Manchester City will also be in contention to sign him.
